BAI Sent Three Graduates for a Three-week Program in Russia

Under the great support of the school, the Department of Graduates and the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange jointly initiated the first "3plus3" exchange program of the Beijing Administrative Institute(BAI), i.e. sending 3 graduates studying for a period of 3 weeks in a foreign country. From April 6 to April 26 2015, three BAI full-time graduate students studied in North-West Institute of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, which is located in St. Petersburg of Russia.Recently, three students have returned with much accomplishment, marking the success of the program.


In St . Petersburg, three students participated in a variety of academic and teaching activities,which can bemainly divided into the following fourparts.


Firstly, they participated in a number of seminars and meetings, to name a few, Lecture of Beijing's Urban Development and its Economic Transformation and Upgrading in the Background of New Regional Strategy, Lecture of Philosophy and Religion in Chinese Traditional Culture, Seminar of Social Aspects of Tradition and Innovation in China and Russia,Participation in the Week of Faculty of State and Municipal Administration,Expert meeting with the dean of Faculty of State and Municipal Administration,Participation in the international conference "30 years of Perestroika: theEnd orContinuity of Post-Soviet period?".


Secondly,they studiedwith tutorsfor the presentation of the topics of scientific internships.Students met withrespectivetutors for several timesin different departments to discuss the topic.On April 24, eventually,Li    Xianglian presented the topic of"The role of the Russian Orthodox Church from the Perspective of Russian Patriotism Education", Li   Lunkepresented the topic of"Environmental Policy during the Process of Urbanization– Case Studies on Beijing and St. Petersburg" and Wang Ping presented the topic of"The Contrast Research of Leadership between Beijing and St . Petersburg".


Thirdly,they attended some English teaching courses, e.g.Modern Russia's foreign policy strategy andinternational conflicts,Religious and ethnic aspects of the modern world policy,The role of national states in the world policy.


Fourthly,the interaction with students, e.g.The meeting at the Center of Confucius with the students studying Chinese language;Under the guidance ofstudent, they learned to use the library resources and visiteda photo exhibition of "Crimea: a view of St. Petersburg’s citizens";The meeting in the student’s club “Polis”;The presentation ofcultural traditions of Russia and China.


Above all, our three studentscompleted alot ofcolorful and meaningful exchange programs.For our graduate students, the"3plus3" exchange program, a "zero breakthrough", is atrial for the internationalization ofgraduate education.


According to work plan, a 3-member student delegation from our Russian Counterpart will have a 3-week program at BAI next year.
