On May, 22nd, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange and the Division of Grassroots Party School led the professors from College of Public Administration of North Rhine Westphalia from Germany to Huairou District for a thematic seminar where 150 trainees were present. Han Jiugen, Vice President of BAI, attended the seminar and delivered speech. Leaders from BAI, Huairou Administrative College, Huairou Organization Department of District Party Committee and Huairou District Tourism Commission attended the seminar.
The four professors from Germany gave lectures under the theme of German environmental legislation and environment protection from the perspectives of environmental protection concepts, protection measures, legislation and German exit of nuclear power. The trainees exchanged with the professors over the issues such as the development of environmental protection industry, the awareness of environment protection and environmental treatment.
This seminar expanded the trainees’ horizon and boosted their capacity, playing a positive role in the preparation of APEC conference. German professors had a deep impression of Beijing after the seminar. It marked an effort by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange and the Division of Grassroots Party School to take lectures to the grassroots level, generating sound effects.
