Sanford of Duke University Visited BAI

On June 14, Duke Center for International Development (DICD) of Duke Sanford visited BAI. The delegation was headed by Mr. Joseph Tham, visiting associate professor of DICD. Mr. Derek R. Delong, senior program coordinator of DICD, was also in the delegation. The delegation was received by Mr. Yuanjifu, college committee member of BAI. The Dept. of International Cooperation and Exchange headed by Dr. Prof. Liang Jun organized this meeting. Deputy Director Ms Zhao Hongjun and Program officer Mr. Chen Cong from the department attended the meeting as well.


Mr. Yuan welcomed the delegation and briefed to them on BAI’ s basics, including cadre education and training, faculty training, master education program, foreign training and international cooperation, etc. Mr. Tham introduced the university system of the States and presented the general information of Duke Sanford, including its cooperation with Chinese partners on civil servant training and he wished similar programs could be carried out with BAI. In addition, both sides exchanged views on training of civil servants, visiting scholar programs and international lecturing issues.


Other participants of the meeting included Mr. Shan Aihong, Director of Business Administration (Leadership Sciecen), Ms Cao Ying, associate professor of the Dept. of Public Administration and Dr. Kong Xiangli.
