In order to expand the horizon of our teachers, BAI dispatched Zhong Yong, Associate Professor of the Department of Business Administration and Sun Ning, a doctor from the Department of Party History and Party Building, to Carl Vinson Institute of Government of the University of Georgia for exchanges and project research for half a year. They started their journey in December, 2013 and days ago, they completed their mission and came back to BAI.
The two scholars participated in various activities held in UGA and visited the different departments there. They attended the training courses and the 23rd annual conference of public service as well as the series of conferences by the departments during which various departments shared information. Surrounding their research topics, the two conducted a thorough research respectively. For one thing, they investigated related experts and scholars; for another, they collected materials and participated in various social practices to get first-hand experience.
Half-year of stay in the US enlightened the two a lot. They not only get a deeper understanding of the US society and the training model of their civil servants, but also established broad academic network and improved their English level, laying a solid foundation for further study and course design.
UGA was founded in 1785 and is the first public university in the US history and the origin of the public institutions of higher education in the US. The Carl Vinson Institute of Government is the largest civil-servants training body in the US.
