From February, 26th to March, 2nd, 2014, the Bangladesh delegation of 20 officials from local governments and LGRD visited BAC. This is the second delegation of its kind since the first one from November, 20th to 23rd last year. The Department of International Cooperation and Exchange took on the work of meeting this delegation and arranged activities, such as lecture, field visit and cultural visits.
Lecture Session
The theme of this visit was “the administration and management of local governments”. Doctor Liu Liang from the Department of Public Administration delivered a lecture on “the system of local governments in China” for the group and discussed with the members about the relationship between central and local governments, the election procedure of local government officials, the relationship between the Party Committee and levels of government and so on. Then Adjunct Professor Zhang Ling led the group to visit the Xicheng Administrative Service Center, through which, the members understood better the public service level of China’s local governments and the reform of the administrative system as well as the service-oriented governments. Besides, the group visited the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and Temple of Heavens, all world heritages, getting a first-hand experience of the charm of the Chinese culture with a long history.

Questions for the Field Trip
Through this visit, the Bangladesh officials maintained that they learnt a lot, especially about the system of local governments in China, and hoped that they would draw on the precious experience in China when they get back in their country. Meanwhile, they expressed their thanks to us for our considerate arrangement and services and confirmed that the third group would come in the end of March.
