German delegation of youth students visited BAI

From October, 10th to 18th, Bernd Seifert, educational official from Cologne government, Harald Hofmann, professor of College of Public Administration of North-Rhine Westphalia(CPANRW) and 18 youth students from Cologne visited BAI. Vice President Han Jiugen and related staff met the delegation.

On October, 15th, German students participated in the interaction with postgraduate students of 2013 in BAI. During the meeting, Han Jiugen expressed warm welcome to the delegation and his sincere hope that the two sides will continue the communication and cooperation to carry on the friendship between China and Germany. Afterwards, students from two sides introduced to each other unique culture in their own country, such as Chinese tea, calligraphy, German occupational guidance and Cologne Carnival. Later on, Chinese students presented the art of calligraphy on the spot, fully demonstrating the extensive and profound Chinese culture. Finally, students from two countries exchanged freely and sent gifts, pushing this activity to a new high.

For the German delegation to better understand China, Director Liang Jun from Department of International Cooperation and Exchange gave a lecture about China, Beijing and BAI. Professor Ga Rida from Department of Sociology also lectured on the gridding model of China’s social management. The delegation was also accompanied to visit the Cemetery of missionaries on campus.

Through the lectures and visits, German delegation got a better understanding of China, especially in the fields of social management, old-age care and so on.
