Recently, a delegation of 5 members from North-West Institute of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Russian National Economy visited BAI, led by vice president Alexander Fedorkov. The executive vice president Wang Minzhong held a reception meeting. The delegation signed some research memorandums with the department of sociology and the department of economics of BAI.
Wang Minzhong reflected on the friendship and academic cooperation between the two sides in the past decade and highly praised its significance as well as how this cooperation fit into the broader picture of the strategic partnership between China and Russia. Fedorkov also summarized that his institute cast the great emphasis and acknowledgement on mutual cooperation before and after its reform.
During the visit, Russian professors gave some lectures in Tongzhou Administrative College in Beijing and held a seminar with scholars from the departments of sociology, economics and political science in BAI. After a series of discussions, the two parties decided to begin some new research topics, which include ‘comparative trend analysis on immigration of China and Russia—citing Beijing and St. Petersburg as examples’, ‘comparative study on the incentive innovations of the tax policy in China and Russia’, ‘comparative analysis on senior and elder care service in China and Russia’. Rida Ga, Xiaoqing Zhu and Bing Li are responsible for these topics respectively. Later, Rida Ga, Xiaoqing Zhu and Jun Liang signed the agreement as representatives for the three departments.
