On June 9^th and 10^th, Ms. Pat Bender, president of Bely Bender Company, U.S. and expert in leadership training was invited by BAI to give a lecture named Leadership in a World Vision for trainees in BAI. Ms. Liu Yang, vice president of BAI, Mr. Zhou Chunming, BAI committee member and director of Dean’s Division and some other directors from relevant departments attended the opening ceremony for the training course.

Ms. Liu Yang addressed that the purpose of this training course was to understand the newest tendency and characteristics of leadership training in foreign countries, and to provide an updated way of thinking and method for training leaders with international vision in BAI.

Ms. Liu Yang pointed out that there are four characteristics of this training course: Firstly, the course was recommended by well qualified Cheung Kong Design and Research Center (CKDRC) and co-hosted by CKDRC and BAI; secondly, the course was lectured by American instructor, which provided an international outlook for us; thirdly, the diversity of trainees. Most of the trainees are leaders and teachers coming from administrative colleges on district and county levels and responsible for leadership training, besides that, there are some teachers from BAI. Fourthly, the course was organized jointly by several departments of BAI, and each of them provided great supports to it.

Ms. Pat Bender took her personal experiences as examples and use case study to demonstrate on two themes: How to be a high efficiency team leader and The art of leadership: the application of DISC. Ms. Pat Bender shared her unique ideas and effective practices with all the trainees on team construction, social communication, mutual trust, challenge and conflict solutions and innovations etc. Ms. Pat Bender said that this journey and teaching experience in China had deepened her understanding about China, especially through her communications with China colleagues and she wished to come to China again in the near future.
