2011-11-29

In middle May of 2011, 14 students from the University of Georgia (UGA) visited and studied in BAI under the lead of Professor Robert Grafstein. Organized by BAI, the American guests had visited Chinese Academy of Governance, Peking University and Peking Union Medical College. They had a great tour at the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Tian’anmen Square, Beihai Park, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, etc. BAI's professors delivered two special lectures for the visiting students entitled respectively “Training System of China Civil Servants: BAI Case Study” by Dr. Liang Jun and “Chinas Internal Affairs and Diplomacy” by Professor Fan Wen.

Young students from U.S. and China had a friendly communication in an informal meeting organized by the Dept. of Graduate Students. Students in BAI had also used this opportunity to practice their oral English while the American students had got to know more about the real China.

It has been more than 10 years since BAI and UGA established this friendly cooperation tie. Besides the annual public administration training program conducted by UGA and BAI, Dr. Grafstein from UGA has initiated this program of sending American students to study in China, which has been consecutively held in great success for 6 times. Apart from Beijing, the American students would also plan to visit Sichuan, Shaanxi and Shanghai etc.
