Russian Federation National University of Land Management headed a delegation to BAI

        On 24th February of 2010, a 20-member delegation visited BAI, headed by Prof. V. I. Nilipovsky, vice-president of the State University on Land Use Planning (affiliated to Ministry of Agriculture of Russia). Vice-president Yin Qingyan, together with BAI committee member Liu Honglei and director Liang Jun of the department of International Cooperation & Exchange received the delegation and held a meeting with them.

        Mr. Yin Qingyan expressed the warm welcome to the guests and introduced to them BAI’s fundamental teaching and scientific research programs. Mr. Liu Honglei also made important remarks. He reviewed the rapid development of Sino-Russian strategic cooperative partnership and wished both sides would contribute their own efforts to building Beijing into a world city. Prof. Nilipovsky highly evaluated the Sino-Russian relation and introduced the contributions their university (enjoying a 200-year history) had made to Chinese talent cultivation and Sino-Russian relation. He also expressed their willingness to set up a regular contact with BAI by this visit, hoping that both sides would communicate with each other on matters mutually concerned, contributing to the city construction of both Beijing and Moscow and Sino-Russian friendship.

        After the meeting, Prof. Liang Jun gave a lecture to them-Matteo Ricci—Messenger of Sino-western Culture Communication. Afterwards, he accompanied them to visit the Graveyard of Matteo Ricci and other Missionaries during the Ming and Qing Dynasties on BAI’s campus, which left a deep impression to the delegation.

        The delegation was reported to be invited by Ministry of Land and Resources of P.R.C and Shandong Engineering University. Their visit to BAI was a special stop by under previous and constant connection with BAI.
