Students from University of Georgia of United States Studied in BAI

        From May 12 to May 20 of 2010, under the lead of Professor Robert Grafstein, 15 students from the University of Georgia visited and studied in BAI.

        BAI's professors delievered two special lectures for the visiting students entitled respectively “Training System of China Civil Servants: BAI Case study” by Dr. Liang Jun and “Matteo Ricci’s Contributions to Cultural Exchanges between China and the West” by Professor Yu Sanle. Afterwards, BAI organized the students to visit “the Graveyard of Matteo Ricci & Foreign Missionaries”. In the discussion session, American and chinese students had a free exchange of opinions on commly interested topics, e.g. politics, economy, society, culture, study and personal hobbies.

        The student delegation also visited Paul Hastings Beijing Office and CIETAC to have a better understanding about the history of arbitration, the scope of business, the rules of procedure, the condition of execution and the judicial system of China. On the margins of their study, to deepen their understanding of Beijing, the American students travelled to some historical relics, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and the ShiChaHai Lake. They had also visited some modern buildings and facilities such as the Bird’s Nest (National Stadium), the Water Cube (National Aquatic Center), National Centre for the Performing Arts, etc.

        In these just a few days, the American students have experienced a traditional and modern, a unique and diversified Beijing city by themselves. The economic development, political stability, social harmony and people’s friendliness had given everyone an unforgettable impression.
