On April 6th, a high-level delegation of Adam-Schall-Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Chinesische Zusammenarbeit (ASGfDCZ), headed by president Udo Mattes, paid a goodwill visit to BAI. Vice President Ying Qingyan welcomed them.
Mr. Mattes said they would like to join efforts with BAI in making an original and high-quality historical documentary in order to recognize the tremendous contributions that Adam Schall von Bell and other German missionaries made to Sino-West cultural exchange 300 years ago as well as deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, especially the younger generations.
The visitors were shown a model of the exhibition on Matteo Ricci and Sino-Western Cultural Exchange during the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynastie. They also visited the Graveyard of Matteo Ricci & Foreign Missionaries during the Ming & Qing Dynasties, which is a key cultural relic site under state protection.
