Dr.Riyad Dawud Adem and Dr. Delessa Bulcha Neger, two vice presidents of Ethiopia’s Oromia State University(OSU) visited BAI from March 25 to 29.   

Dr. Li Yunchi, vice president of BAI, warmly welcomed the delegation.Dr.Li reviewed the long-lasting relation between China and Ethiopia. China has invariably stood in solidarity with Ethiopia through thick and thin. He hoped that BAI and OSU will draw strength from the spirit of China-African Friendship and deepen practical cooperation to be a new pacesetter for international cooperation of BAI.

To cater the needs of OSU,leaders and faculty from the Training Division, Research Division and Leadership Science Department of BAI briefed on the practice and experience in foreign training programs, international research cooperation and leadership development programs. Two sides explored the cooperation fields in the future and fixed the cooperation plan of 2024. 

The delegation also paid a visit to BOE technology group, a giant of Internet of Things. By gaining hands-on experience of the smart classroom, smart transport and smart devices, the delegation was impressed by the wide-range application of cutting edge technologies, including AI, big data and cloud computing, to daily life. The visit deepened the delegation’s understanding of Beijing’s role as the national center of technological innovation.

BAI also linked OSU with the Capital University of Economics and Businesses(CUEB). The two universities explored cooperation fields of mutual interest and reached an agreement to sign a MoU. subsequently, the delegation experienced the smart classrooms and picturesque campus of CUEB.

The fruitful visit not only renewed the friendship between BAI and OSU, but also charted the way forward for cooperation. BAI attached great importance on hosting the delegation, which embodied the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith for China’s Africa policy. The gracious reception of BAI and the practical cooperation between BAI and OSU was highly spoken of by the Embassy of Ethiopia who regarded it as part of the growing Ethio-China institutional and people to people relation.
