Public Administration and Management of North Rhine-Westphalia, headed a delegation with six people to BAI from Jun. 27th to July 2nd. Mr. Han Jiugeng, the vice president of BAI extended a warm
welcome.
On Jun. 28th,
Mr. Han Jiugeng held a meeting with German side. He said, Cologne and Beijing
were sister cities. With the development of the exchange between two cities,
our two organizations should deepen the cooperation step by step. The two sides
reached a common sense on the following issues. First, the two sides would send
delegations to visit each other at a regular time and increase the number of
visiting scholars. Second, the two sides
set up a long-term exchange mechanism to broaden the channel of the academic
staff going abroad. Third, the two sides resumed the students exchange program.
Since 2007 will be
the fifth anniversary of two sides’ cooperation, Mr. Han Jiugeng suggested that
both sides should celebrate it by holding an academic symposium, publishing
papers, and making cooperation album.
During the visit,
the German experts held a workshop with the topic “the city’s management and
development” in Daxing District of Beijing. Audience actively participated in
the workshop and discussed relevant issues with German professors.
Professor Grumke
said that the visit was very successful and wished the two sides would create a
bright future.
