On Aug. 1, H.E. Ms. Sylvie BERMANN visited BAI, accompanied by officials from cultural cooperation division. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Yuan Jifu, college committee member of BAI.

Mr. Yu briefed on BAI and its education, training and research. He also introduced to the ambassador the graveyard of Matteo Ricci and other foreign missionaries, and the research BAI had done on the cultural exchanges. The ambassador expressed her appreciation and support on the protection of the graveyard and a communication channel was established between BAI and the embassy on civil servant training and cultural cooperation. The ambassador also visited the cemetery after the meeting, with focus on the gravestones of the 9 French missionaries.
