German professors visited BAI and lectured for the trainees

From March 30 to April 5 2013, a group of German professors and experts visited BAI and presented several lectures for the civil servants receiving training at BAI. On behalf of BAI, College Committee Member Mr. Liu Honglei officially received the delegation.

On April 1, Prof. Dr. Erhard Treutner and Prof. Wolfgang Pippke from the University of Applied Administrative Sciences of North Rhine-Westphalia gave a lecture for the director general level civil servant attending a one-year training program at BAI. Prof. Treutner’s lecture centered on Social Management by Citizens Participation in Modern Societies, followed by Prof. Pippke’s lecture on New Sights on Leadership: Neuroleadership and the Role of Emotions. Both of these topics were quite interesting to the trainees and received a number of questions and queries from them. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Hou Yafei, a professor of sociology, and was also attended by Mr. Wang Minzhong, executive vice president of BAI.

Also on this day, Professor Dr. Jürgen Reese, from International Management School of the University of Kassel (UNIKIMS) gave a lecture on Organizing Blended Learning via Internet, the content of which was quite appealing to some faculty of BAI and the professors and teachers from the Information Department, Post-Graduate Department and the Department of International Cooperation & Exchange attended for the lecture and held heated discussions with Prof. Reese on the newest trend of internet learning and its methods.

The lecture on The Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law in Germany was presented to the excellent young and middle aged civil servants on April 3 by Dr. Nicole Pippke. Chaired by Mr. Jia Xiaolei, deputy director of the Department of Lay, the lecture discussed some of the hot issues on the use and application of renewable energy. The trainees were quite impressed by the strict implementation of environmental law in Germany and the lecture opened their minds for a more environmental friendly development in China.

Also, recommended by BAI for inter-provincial level cooperation, the Tianjin Administrative College also invited Prof. Pippke and Prof. Treutner to lecture for their cadres on April 2. In the spare time of the visit, accompanied by their old friends, Mr. Yu Sanle and Ms Li Xiumei, the German delegation also visited some of the cultural relics in Beijing, e.g. the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall.

This visit was quite fruitful, as commented by the German professors. And both sides believe, with the coming visit of BAI to Germany in this May, the cooperation between the BAI and the German partners could be further enhanced and reached an even higher stage.
