“Nine-Day-English Program”, a Brainstorming Opportunity for BAI Graduate Students

2012-09-07

Co-organized by the Graduate School and the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, “Nine-Day-English Program”, the oral English training class, was launched in BAI on June 11th. All first-year graduate students and some of the colleagues in BAI attended the training program given by Jim Holmes, an American oral English teacher, and Professor Sheree Lin of DVC in US.

With many years of English study experience, the students are usually confined by the traditional way of learning. Generally, they are good at grammar, reading and translation, but often have troubles on oral communication. This program tries to bring breakthrough and progress on pronunciation as well as oral presentation skills and is therefore highly welcomed by all participants.

Everybody experienced moments of curiosity, confusion and joy during their study. All listeners are very impressed by the interactive teaching method as well as the discipline and dedication of American lecturers. They like their teachers very much and keep in contact with each other after the training.
