Slovenia Ambassador visited the Graveyard of Matteo Ricci and Other Foreign Missionaries

On March 22nd, H.E. Mrs. Marija Adanja, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to China visited the Graveyard of Matteo Ricci and Other Foreign Missionaries located on the campus of Beijing Administrative College (BAC), together with minister Mrs. Natalija Raisp, Mr. Mitja Miklavec and Attaché Mr. Miha Fatur from the embassy.. Mr. Wang Minzhong, Executive Vice President of BAC, formally received the delegation.

The delegation paid their respect to the Slovenian priest Augustin von Hallerstein,  and also visited the graveyard of Matteo Ricci, Johann Adam Schall von Bell , Ferdinand Verbiest and other missionaries. Meanwhile, they had a brief communication with BAC on the cultural exchange between China and the west in the past and future.

After the visit, Mr. Wang Minzhong took photos with the guests and presented them the large paper edition, edited and printed by BAC, History Recorded by the Stones: the 400 Year Story of “The Cemetery of Matteo Ricci and Other Foreign Missionaries”. The Ambassador expressed her sincere thanks to the consistent efforts that BAC has made in the protection of the Cemetery and the hospitality they received. As exchange, the guests presented the English book about Augustin von Hallerstein, history and culture of Slovenia to BAC.

The day after the visit, on behalf of the embassy, the ambassador wrote a letter of appreciation to Mr. Wang Minzhong to express her sincere thanks for the formal reception and expressed an intense desire for the in-depth cooperation in the future.
